About Me - Stacey Uy | Freelance illustrator and designer

(she/hers) I’m a designer and illustrator on unceded Kumeyaay territory (San Diego), specializing in print and digital design, branding strategy, and illustration. I earned degrees in art history and psychology from UCSD and have more than 10 years of experience in graphic and web design. I’ve worked with folks like the Ladies of Sound, Pacific Arts Movement, USC Pacific Asia Museum and Slant’d. My mission is to create joyful experiences that elevate how we relate to and treat each other.

When I’m not crafting brand identities or designing marketing magic, you can find me working on my history zine Radical History Club or facilitating my addiction to vintage t-shirts. Joy

I want people to feel an immediate connection to my work, whether it’s a simple flyer or a custom wedding invitation. That moment that you realize that your designer just gets you, can be one of pure joy. I strive to make you feel heard and understood, because there is nothing more satisfying than getting the work you deserve.

Quality

Quality is the careful result of intentionality, effort, intelligence and skill. I wouldn’t be doing this work if I didn’t get to practice those traits everyday. And while perfection is naturally unobtainable, I tirelessly seek it in every project because our time and our effort has value.

Authenticity

I’ve spent too much of my life trying to be like everyone else, and I value honesty too much to cut corners or color the truth. Chances are your audiences feel much the same way. I want your project to capture the essence of who you are and find the supporters that naturally resonate with you, not the idea of you.

Soul

In every project I do, there is this immeasurable little nugget that seeks to connect people to your mission. My job is to find that substance in your organization or your event and turn it into a real and relatable experience.
