Save the chip.
The couple’s most important request was that people knew their wedding was going to be a good time, so I knew the visual direction had to fit their personality ever so perfectly. They wanted their save the dates to be something tangible that their guests would want to hold onto. We decided to create custom poker chip magnets with their wedding date information. The bag labels were stapled onto a clear vinyl pouch and sent in handmade and hand addressed marble paper envelopes.
Gold foil for days.
The invitation itself needed to present a lot of information for the pre-wedding celebration and hotel info. Carrying on the gothic theme, I designed a triptych black invitation with gold foiled typography and patterns on each wing. I decided to try a new technique using laser printing and a laminator to print with gold foil at home. It wasn’t easy, but they turned out great!
Each invitation was wrapped in a velvet burgundy ribbon and wax sealed with matching wax. They wanted people to know the wedding wasn’t taking itself too seriously from the start, so the seal read, “Let’s get totes lit, fam.” Burgundy envelopes with a marble liner were also addressed by hand in gold and sealed with an Elvis stamp. By far, one of my favorite projects I’ve ever done.
