Creatives could schedule one-on-one virtual sessions with experts from multiple fields, and folks in the music industry would in turn get access to additional streams of revenue. Partnering with the engineering team at Noble Intent Studio, I provided the project management, brand strategy, wireframing, and visual design. Because we were building both a public-facing site and a paywall experience, it was important that the scope and schedule were well-documented.

I was pleased with how well our clients responded to the organization, as it made expectations at each stage very clear. This was essential for working with our developer because he was able to participate throughout the design process, rather than surfacing challenges at the very end. Through the discovery process, I was able to identify our goals according to multiple audience groups, the message and tone of the brand, and the competitive landscape they would be entering. Once wireframes were completed according to the goals, we conducted some user testing sessions and discovered that people enjoyed the simplicity of the designs and were looking for more user testimonials to validate the experts.

[The site] offered an array of music production services with expanded music topics, well experienced music producers, managers etc. Made me feel really excited and confident about using the services.”

Had we been able to increase our budget, I would have prioritized more user testing sessions to validate with each iteration of the design. For instance in the final iteration, I created custom illustrations to make the site feel more approachable and friendly, and I wondered if they cluttered the experience.

Overall, we worked great as a team, met our deadlines, and launched a project with minimal custom development as it was entirely powered by WordPress. Unfortunately, the platform would not materialize enough in the real world to receive the funding needed for launch. Musician’s Council was a platform created in the COVID before times, so I believe there is potential for it still.
